Oversigt

Slut dig til en venlig bosiddende madelsker og certificeret guide, som vil tage dig gennem vores foretrukne mellemøstlige restauranter og butikker i det travle distrikt Murraggabat i Deira. Vi går fra den ene restaurant til den anden og smager palæstinensiske, libanesiske, syriske og irakiske lækkerier, mens vi deler historier om Dubai og mad undervejs.

Vores madturrute dækker et spektrum af smagsoplevelser fra hele Mellemøsten – urtegrønne falafler og cremet hummus fra Levanten, lækker syrisk mad (både vegetariske og ikke-vegetariske muligheder!), kardemommeduftende arabisk kaffe fra Golfen og traditionel irakisk mad det vil enten være en kæmpe røget fisk med syltet mango-syltelag eller saftig lammekebab (afhænger af gruppestørrelse). Derudover oplever vi de gennemprøvede skikke med arabisk kaffe og smager frisk sødt ostebrød lige ved komfuret.

The tour with our absolutely great guide Joanne was highly engaging and truly exceeded our expectations in terms of the places we visited and all the information we had received. Joanne conducted the tour on middle Eastern food & culture in an entertaining, yet highly knowledgeable way. We will definitely do another tour with Frying Pan Food adventures upon our next visit to Dubai.

Joanne was a great guide and the choice of Restaurants and the food was amazing. Loved being a part of the process in kitchen to make Khunaaf and tasting it fresh from the cooking, The Iraqi restaurant at the end was a perfect ending to an otherwise amazing tour.

If you’re looking to do something different in Dubai I can thoroughly recommend this food tour. We visited 5 different restaurants in the Al Rigga neighbourhood, all were excellent and we were offered so much to eat! There was a mixture of sweet and savoury and Farida’s passion & knowledge about the food & history associated with it was fantastic. We loved it so much we tracked down some more chicken shawarma’s during our trip. A brilliant, unique experience

We were sceptical of this tour living up to
it’s rating based on our experience with other so called ‘five star’ tours. We’ll, this one is really worth it. It’s like touring the backstreets of a neighbourhood with a friend who knows all the insider places. Truly amazing. Loved that Farida provided historical/cultural information as we walked to each restaurant. Take time out from all the ‘glitz and glamour’ of the city and experience the real Dubai.

I have been living in Dubai for four years and this is one of the best tours. Not only foods themselves are excellent/interesting but also our guide, Farida-san, shared her insight/personal experience/history with us. It is also good to know those restaurants loved by locals. I will surely visit them again. BTW, to make the best use of this tour, people need to participate in it with their stomach empty.

LOVED this food tour! Our guide Farida was warm, welcoming and insightful. It is obvious that she cares deeply about the local food community in Deira - its people, history and expertise. The food was, as expected, delicious. What really set this food tour apart from others that I have taken was: 1) Farida (her professionalism, seamless scheduling and high regard for the chefs, owners and staff at each location); and 2) the little details (i.e., gift bag, guidebook, social media outreach, etc.) that made this experience feel special and unique. If you are reading this review and have the opportunity to take a food tour with Frying Pan Adventures, just book it already!

Excellent tour, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, very informative on the food and also history. The food was incredible, from places we wouldn’t normally know to visit. We returned to one of them to experience the best falafel we’d ever eaten again.
The tour was a highlight of our holiday in Dubai.

Authentic and delicious

Loved it all! Farina grew up in the area and was able to share her wealth of knowledge about Dubai and the food we were eating as we strolled through the neighbourhood. There was a good mix of savoury and sweet treats, we were able to watch food being prepared at many of the restaurants, and the food itself was fresh and delicious. Everyone was full by the end of the tour! Instructions to find the starting location were easy to follow, and the Metro was economical and convenient to use. I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but this tour was special and I would definitely take another “Frying Pan Adventure” on my next trip to Dubai.

My wife and I took a tour of old Dubai with Frying Pan Adventures and we had so much fun. Arva was a fantastic guide and curated a great sampling of food from the old Dubai and old Souk areas we explored. We loved learning about Dubai's history and about its diversity of cultures. I would highly recommend Frying Pan Adventures if you are thinking of taking a guided tour while visiting Dubai!
